The results of a recent survey, commissioned by Dimension Data and undertaken by Datamonitor, suggest that smart CIOs are leveraging IT Service Management (ITSM) best practice frameworks to meet ever- increasing stakeholder expectations.

The study, which targeted over 370 CIOs from 14 countries across 5 continents, focused on several aspects of ITSM, including drivers and inhibitors for best practice framework adoption, the impact of ITSM on Service Level Agreements and preferred modes of service delivery.

The results confirm that across the globe, organisations are waking up to the possibilities of ITSM and taking a closer look to determine where and how these frameworks might improve their IT efforts. Having conquered Europe, ITSM is now fast establishing itself in the Asia-Pacific region, and is enjoying a moderately growing influence in North America.
